Glenda Curl is a 57-year-veteran in the news industry, Glenda is the current owner/publisher of The Progressive Era Newspaper in Camden, AL. Before moving to Camden in 1969, Glenda spent some time in Dothan and Butler, where she co-owned and managed a handful of newspaper’s with her now late husband, Hollis Curl.
A former president of the Alabama Press Association and Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Hollis received virtually every award the APA had to offer for his success in the newspaper industry. Glenda has an extensive track record for awards received, from editorial honors to ever broader, civic acknowledgements.
Even at an advanced age of 80, Glenda still captains the ship at the Progressive Era and loves coming to work everyday. She remains just as committed to her occupation as she is to her family and community.
